Itinerary

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert Camp

Your 3-day Sahara tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or riad in Fes. We drive through the scenic landscapes of the Middle Atlas, stopping at Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Switzerland.” Continue to Azrou Cedar Forest, where you can interact with the Barbary monkeys.

After lunch in Midelt, we travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley, known for its lush palm groves and dramatic gorges leading toward the desert. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will begin a magical camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes or choose a 4x4 transfer to your desert camp.

Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music, and a memorable evening beneath the starry Sahara sky.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise before breakfast. We then depart toward Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty, and continue to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops.

The journey proceeds to the majestic Todra Gorges, a paradise for nature lovers and rock climbers. After exploring the canyon, drive through the Dades Valley, famous for its cliff formations known as “Monkey Fingers” and its dramatic landscapes.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel through the cinematic town of Ouarzazate, home to major film studios where movies like Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed. Continue to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, Morocco’s most iconic fortified ksar.

Cross the winding High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi N’Tichka Pass, and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or evening, where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
